Fibromyalgia Exercise Program
A proven fibromyalgia exercise program is crucial to combat the occurrence of symptoms of fibromyalgia. But, sufferers may raise their eyebrows about the prospect of exercising; it's painful enough to get out of bed every morning, how much more to exercise. You must know, however, that medicines can only give you temporary relief, if at all. But, the benefits of a good fibromyalgia exercise program are long-lasting.
If you have fibromyalgia, you need to get your blood circulation in tip-top shape to oxygenate the entire muscles of your body. Exercise helps you do just this. The process is painful in the beginning but your body can tolerate it with constant exercise. And, you don't have to jump into extraneous routine at once, you can do it gradually. Proven fibromyalgia exercise program are those that incorporate stretching, aerobics, and strength training.
When you suffer from fibromyalgia, you're all too familiar with muscle stiffness and weakness when your symptoms attack. Stretching exercises such as yoga or Pilates can help you unbundle nerves and muscles that felt sore. Stretching tones muscle so that they become more fit and resistant to pain also. But of course, stretching for the first time can be excruciating. It's important that you only do few stretches a day holding each position no longer than 3 minutes. Just gradually work your way up once you develop tolerance to pain and your symptoms improve.
Another proven fibromyalgia exercise program is aerobic exercise. Aerobics strengthens your cardiopulmonary system that's needed to deliver oxygen to your whole body. When your system is properly oxygenated, you can prevent acids from forming that may trigger fibromyalgia symptoms. Aerobic exercise also reduces stress, and your body releases endorphins, a natural pain killer, that helps you fight pain.
Toning your muscles through strength training also helps fight muscle weakness and stiffness as a result of fibromyalgia. Toned muscles are more pain tolerant, and you need all the power you can get when your symptoms attack. You'll notice that the pain will become a lot more bearable when your muscles are toned. Start with low weights; you can even use your water bottle in the beginning and gradually work your way to using weights.
Even though exercising is excruciating in the beginning if you have fibromyalgia, but your perseverance goes a long way when you start to notice improvements in your symptoms. Consult your therapist for some proven fibromyalgia exercise program and start as early as possible on your way to wellness.
